Press Announcement:
Arkona Weaves: Sophisticated cut velvets from Harlequin, are available at Trendenza
The Arkona Weaves collection has been designed to complement Harlequin’s autumn 2008 launch, Arkona.
Named after a ‘30s ocean liner, Arkona pays homage to the understated glamour and sheer sophistication of the Art Deco movement. These archive-inspired weaves, which combine style with durability, are the perfect accompaniment to Arkona’s printed fabrics, embossed velvets and dramatic wallpapers. Comprising four sumptuous designs over a rich palette of colours, the Arkona Weaves collection epitomises luxury and effortless elegance.
The sinuous curves and stylised angularity of the designs, whilst encapsulating the spirit of the ‘30s, have been cleverly adapted to suit the 21st Century interior.
The Art Deco heritage is further alluded to in the fashionable colour palette, which includes on-trend shades of celery, raspberry, cyclamen, charcoal, citrine, amethyst, teal and chocolate.
Iznik: a vibrant celebration of folkloric designs
The Harlequin Studio has produced Iznik, a vivacious fabric collection inspired by Moorish textiles and ceramics.
An uninhibited celebration of eclectic designs, Iznik features six decorative weaves, which are suitable for flamboyant curtains, eye-catching accessories and feature upholstery.
Natural fibres such as silk and linen, combined with a passionate, uncompromising colour palette, give Iznik a spirit of luxury and opulence.
Iznik’s folkloric patterns and rich colours have been cleverly planned to work together in a bohemian fusion of old and new.
The cohesive palette has been designed to both clash and harmonise at the same time and the overall effect of the collection is embracing and uplifting, aimed at creating a nurturing home, a haven rather than just a house.
Memi: A folkloric floral motif with an embroidered effect in daring colours
Tabriz: A two-tone ikat stripe in a palette of moody shades on silk and linen

Pasha: A stunning range of cut velvets
Pasha is a sensational collection of luxurious cut velvets, which harmonises with both Iznik and Tamika, Harlequin’s sumptuous spring launches. Reminiscent of fretwork, Pasha is supremely tactile and enjoys a glorious palette of 18 colours, spanning cool neutrals through to rich jewel tones on a subtle metallic ground. It is suitable for both extravagant drapes and statement upholstery.
